Conservation Courses

& Training days 2010

We hold a range of practical workshops suitable for surveyors, architects, craftsmen and anyone else with a keen interest in building conservation.  All courses are suitable for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Lime used in Building  - Friday 19th March   

Traditional Lime plasters & Renders - Friday 23rd April

In situ Mouldings, Internal & External - Saturday 24th April

Wattle & Daub - Friday 21st May               

Traditional Brickwork - Friday 25th June

Traditional Lime plasters & renders - Friday 23rd July

Traditional Roofing & Cladding - Friday 24th September

Local Stone & Flint - Friday 22nd October

 All courses are a full day and cost £100.00 or £180 for two courses. This includes refreshments and a sandwich lunch with vegetarian options.  On completion of each course the participant will receive a CPD Certificate.

Suitable clothing and safety foot wear must be worn. Wellington boots are recommended for the Wattle and Daub course. Where necessary safety glasses, face masks and gloves will be provided.

 A typical course day will be as follows:

9.00am - Arrival Tea/Coffee

v     Brief seminar and theoretical explanations on particular areas of course chosen. Summary of overall benefits and opportunity for Q & A session with workshops.

            1pm - Break for lunch Freshly made sandwiches

v   Group demonstration and practical workshops

v   Final group discussion and further Q & A session

Finish – 4.30pm (approx)
